The home offers spacious accommodation including a Sensory room and a large garden, both of which are greatly enjoyed by the service users. The home incorporates six bedrooms in the main property, with the added benefit of a one bedroom bespoke unit, which provides flexible accommodation to individuals requiring a bespoke care package.
New Horizons - Hedge End: New Horizons is registered for three people with a learning disability, challenging behaviours or additional needs. It is a large modern bright detached property within easy reach of local amenities and in a quiet setting.
The home is a bespoke unit, which has recently been redesigned and refurbished. It offers a modern, warm and friendly home, specifically for young adults. Winchester Road - Four Marks: Based in the village of Four Marks, Winchester Road is a lively four bedroom home that offers a wide range of facilities to up to four adults with learning disabilities and other needs. Currently, the service users are male and aged between 35 and 45 and all enjoy an active lifestyle.
The residents frequently attend Alton College and also participate in a wide-range of community-based activities, as organised by the local Adult Continuing Education team (ACE) to further develop their learning, social and domestic skills.
The home benefits from a large back garden that has a covered and fully enclosed heated swimming pool.
East Sussex: Penang - St Leonard's On Sea: Located in the heart of the residential town of St Leonards, East Sussex, Penang is a home for up to six people with learning disabilities. Each service user has their own keyworker who is responsible for the day-to-day needs of the individual and acts as the co-ordinator for the overall support structure.
Penang’s service users have many different activities built into their individual care programmes and are actively encouraged and supported to be as independent as possible by learning many domestic and social skills. As a result, the service users at Penang enjoy a varied and active lifestyle enjoying a wide range of in-house and community based activities. St Laurence - St Leonard's On Sea: St Laurence offers support and accommodation for up to seven people with mild to severe learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
St Laurence is well-located close to all local amenities and within a ten minute walk of the mainline train station. This proves to be a convenient access point for many off-site activities, which take place on a regular basis – including swimming, horse riding and art & craft.
West Sussex: The Dell - Southgate, Crawley: Newly-built five years ago, the Dell is a prestigious property that provides care to up to four adults with learning disabilities.
The current residents enjoy an active lifestyle, participating in a wide range of activities, including mainstream and specialist college courses, recreational activities in and out of the home and generally enjoy life to the full, developing social and independent living skills each day.
Kent: Northwood House - Sittingbourne: Registered for seven adults with moderate learning disabilities, Northwood House provides a high standard of 24-hour support for both men and women with learning disabilities and enables them to become more independent in their day-to-day lives.
The team at Northwood House aim to provide enough support and encouragement to enable some service users to move on to live more independently, and in some cases, where 24 hour support is not required. Ridgeway - Gillingham: Located in the residential heart of Gillingham, Kent, Ridgeway is a property that provides spacious accommodation over three floors to up to six adults with moderate learning disabilities and associated complex needs.
Ridgeway’s service users have many different activities built into their individual care programmes and are actively encouraged and supported to be as independent as possible by learning many domestic and social skills. The residents at Ridgeway enjoy a wide range of activities, including snooker, swimming, art & craft and horticulture. Queens Road - New Romney: Queens Road is a spacious residential home for up to four people with learning disabilities. The highly skilled staff have specific expertise in challenging behaviours, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and Tourette’s Syndrome.
The emphasis at Queens Road is support people to live independently as possible, learning and building daily life skills to a level where they can eventually live in the community, without the need for 24 hour support. West Dene - Sittingbourne: Conveniently located in the heart of Sittingbourne, West Dene is a registered care home for eight service users with learning disabilities.
West Dene provides a high standard of 24-hour support for learning disabilities for both men and women to enable them to become more independent. The service user is respected with privacy and dignity at all times and the team ensures that all individual’s needs are met.
A wide range of recreational activities are available to the residents at West Dene, in addition to ongoing education, supported employment and work experience opportunities. The service users also have access to a physiotherapy programme. Wild Acres - Ashford: Wild Acres is a well furnished six bed detached house surrounded by a large garden.
Wild Acres specialises in the support of young users, aged between 19 and 30 years, with a wide range of needs including learning disabilities, challenging behaviours, ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome and Autism.
The aim of the home is to support service users who wish to move onto a more independent style of living, providing them with the very best care, support and social skills to help them achieve their personal goals.
