Health and Safety

The Independent Living Group recognises that the health, safety and welfare of its service users and employees are an integral and fundamental part of its business. Consequently, a dedicated NEBOSH qualified Health & Safety Manager works within the Compliance Department with responsibility to ensure best practice is adopted where possible. The Company complies with its legal duties and fulfils its moral obligations to the people we support, staff and other people who may be affected by its activities.

The Company is committed to provide sufficient resources and do that which is reasonably practicable to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its service users, employees and other persons. In particular by securing:-
  • Compliance with CQC regulations
  • Dynamic policies and procedures
  • Regular review of risk assessments
  • Premises that are safe and without risk to health
  • Arrangements for effective risk management
  • Safe and well maintained accommodation, plant, machinery and equipment
  • Adequate facilities and arrangements for welfare at work.
Risk management methods are incorporated into the Company’s management systems. Significant risks are identified, measured and controlled to prevent injury, ill health and loss through work activities.

The health and safety of the people we support and employees are secured by giving suitable instruction, information, training and supervision; safe systems of work are provided and maintained.

The compliance department is responsible for auditing risk management procedures ensuring compliance with current policies.

The Company endeavours to constantly raise health and safety standards by measuring and reviewing performance, identifying opportunities to improve and taking corrective action where necessary.

The Company consults with the people we support and employees’ representatives on matters affecting their health, safety and welfare.
